Liverpool went down 3-1 to West Ham at Upton Park to make it three defeats from four Premier League matches.
Winston Reid headed the Hammers into the lead after 75 seconds when he connected with James Tomkins' nod down, and five minutes later it was 2-0 when Diafra Sakho chipped Simon Mignolet with a cross-cum-shot from the corner of the box.
After Brendan Rodgers brought Mamadou Sakho on for Javi Manquillo and switched to a 3-5-2, Raheem Sterling, operating at wing-back, crashed the ball home from the edge of the area after Mario Balotelli's shot was blocked.
The Reds threatened to hit back on the counter-attack after the break but it was the hosts who struck again, with Morgan Amalfitano racing through to fire home his first goal for the Hammers.
