Bongo musician Hussein Rashid Maarufu, popularly known as Hussein Machozi was on the receiving end of a love triangle involving a Kenyan politician and his wife. The mellow voiced singer almost lost his life when the politician and his friends descended on him with blows and beat him to a pulp, after he was allegedly caught pants down with the politician’s wife in a Mombasa hotel.

Now, in an attempt to hear his side of the story, local tabloid The Nairobian contacted him but could not get a lot out of him as he said he would have wanted to share his side of the story but feared for his life.

“I have a lot to say in my defense, but I am concerned about my safety,” he claimed. “I have been warned by my promoters against speaking to the press, but I will do so at the right time,”
he continued.
Besides living in fear, the singer’s marriage to Shu Yunus Maarufu, his Kenyan wife who works at the Mombasa County Government, is reportedly on the rocks.
