This follows an exposé on fake ‘Prophet Dr.’ Victor Kanyari of Salvation and Healing Ministry, who was caught on camera stealing from unsuspecting faithful in the name of God with fake miracles.
Speaking at PCEA Church in Kiambu yesterday, Ruto warned Kanyari and other unscrupulous pastors who are duping Kenyans with fake miracles and prosperity gospel that their days are numbered.
The Deputy President also cautioned Kenyans to be wary of Pastors and Bishops who take advantage of Christianity to demand money for miracles and performing other activities contrary to the teachings of their faith.
“Kenyans should be careful not to fall to the charlatans who pretend to be preachers. Churches should device ways of funding their programmes and get rid of fake pastors,” said Ruto.
He promised that the Government would put checks and balances to ensure pastors don’t con Kenyans and if they do, would be dealt with ruthlessly.
“As we commit to get rid of criminals undermining peace in some parts of the country, there should be no criminals in the church,” he said.
