Tech giant 'to unveil new device this month'.

Technology giant Apple is expected to launch its new range of iPads later this month, it has emerged.

The iPhone maker will be holding a 'special event' on October 16 when the new devices will be launched.

Speaking to technology website Re/Code, sources said the headline from the event will be the latest updates to the iPads range.

It is also expected that new  iMacs will be unveiled.

Sources told the website this will be a laid back event held in Apple's Town Hall Auditorium in Cupertino, California.

Apple has declined to comment but will be hoping its goes better than the launch of the iPhone 6 last month.

Its launch has been dubbed 'Bendgate' after accusations the new phone could be bent out of shape.

Its the latest in a series of problems with the firm's latest technology.

Just last week a massive $20 billion was wiped off the company's value after it was forced to pull the latest update for its mobile operating system iOS 8 a few hours after it was released.

However, concerned iPhone 6 owners will be relieved that help is at hand after a company launched pre-bent cases to fit snuggly to the misshapen devices.

The cases, which are produced using a 3D printer, has been created by Shapeways and costs around £12.
